Corbett tiger reserve has large tracts of adjoining River & forest area that extend to the higher reaches of the outer Himalayas. Altitude varies from 400 mts to 2100mts.Grasslands and tropical forest dominated by the Sal (Shorea robusta) trees go up to the higher mountains of Oak and Rhododendron with a breath taking view of the icy Himalayan peaks. Hikes and Trekking in these forests with a help of an expert tracker is perhaps the best way to 'feel the forest'. One indeed gets an insight and minute observations are possible. Trekkings and Camping in our forest or by a riverside far from habitation is an unforgettable experience.

Sample Tour Plan [Nine Days and Eight Nights- October to June]

Day One [Arrive at Wild Jungle Lodge]

                Depart Delhi early morning. Arrive at the Wild Jungle Lodge by lunch. Evening walk into the surrounding forest to observe the flora and fauna of the area. Back to camp by sundown for campfire barbecue. Dinner and overnight at Camp.

Day Two [Wild Jungle Lodge to Mohan FRH and Back]

                Early morning trek from Camp to the Mohan along with river  kosi. The journey takes you through a stretch of about 12 Kms through the Kosi valley to Mohan - an Old forest rest house built in the early 1900s. Enroute you shall pass through some excellent patches of fern laden moist sub tropical jungles and would hope to encounter a variety of wildlife. Lunch is served at Mohan FRH.  Post lunch game drive by jeep from FRH to the Kumeria forest for bird watching. Arrive at Wild Jungle Lodge by evening. Overnight at the Wild Jungle Lodge.

Day Three [Wild Jungle Lodge to Lohachaur]

                Early morning game drive by jeep from Wild Jungle Lodge to the Durgadevi gate and enter the tiger reserve. This is an excellent tract of Sal forest and is good for birding and mammal species especially the yellow-throated marten. Onwards the journey takes you through a stretch of about 16 Kms through the Ramganga valley to

Lohachaur - an Old forest rest house built in the early 1900;. Enroute you shall pass through some excellent patches of fern laden moist sub tropical jungles and would hope to encounter a variety of wildlife. Lunch is served at Domunda - The confluence point of the Ramganga and Mandal rivers. Post lunch we trudge up the Mandal valley where we visit the;chunars; - a Hill tribe who carve pots out of wood. Arrive at Lohachaur by evening. Overnight in the forest rest house/ tents.

Day Four [Lohachaur to Rathuadhab]

                Depart early morning upstream along the Mandal River towards maidavan chowki. The Mandal River forms a part of the northern boundary of the tiger reserve. Breakfast enroute. Post breakfast travel on through small hamlets and patches of thick Sal forest to arrive at Maidavan chowki. Lunch is served at Maidavan and post lunch we drive in jeeps to Kanda the Highest forest rest house in the Tiger reserve. Kanda located atop a ridge on the Shivalik ranges is at an altitude of about 1100 mtrs and commands a breathtaking view of the Dhikala chaur and the Ramganga reservoir. Overnight in the forest rest house/tents.

Day Five [Rathuadhab to Halduparao]

               After an early breakfast depart for the Halduparao enroute Mundiapani FRH. Mundiapani is an enchanting rest house located on a hillock surrounded by thick deciduous forest and offers excellent options for nature hikes in the surrounding ecosystem. Lunch at Mundiapani. Evening hike to a neighboring areas. Overnight in the forest rest hous.

Day Six [Halduparao]

                Early morning game drive by jeep in Sonanadi wildlife sanctuary along the Palain River near  Haldupardao Forest rest house. This is pure Elephant country and one can expect to see Elephant herds besides other wildlife enroute. Arrive at the Haldupardao Forest rest house by noon. Post lunch a game drive into the Sonanadi wildlife sanctuary - a buffer sanctuary to the Corbett National Park. Overnight in the forest rest house and tents

Day Seven [Haldupardao - Wild Jungle Lodge]

                Early morning game drive by jeep and back to Wild Jungle Lodge. Dinner and Stay Overnight.

Day Eight [ Depart for Delhi]

                Bid goodbye to the Naturalist and the rest of the team and depart for Delhi after breakfast. Arrive at Delhi by evening.


Transport used from Delhi- Rudrapur/ Kathgodaam and back to Delhi from Ramnagar/ Rudrapur/ Kathgodam is AC Coach/ Train. Form Kathgodaam Regular Cab.

Best time to visit Corbett National Park India is between Mid-October to June End.

Animal/Bird sightings while on Jeep depend greatly on season, timing, and patience.
